The Portugal Stopover is the possibility of travelling to two destinations for the price of one in the same trip, for between 1 and 10 days (24 to 240 hours) in Portugal (Lisbon or Porto). In addition, passengers can benefit from a 25% discount (not applicable to airport taxes) on any domestic flight for a 2nd stopover in Portugal during their Stopover period.

The 25% discount promotional code (not applicable to airport taxes) will be sent to you by email after you book your Stopover flight, so that you can use it to book any domestic flight operated by TAP during your stopover period in Portugal.

This promotional code will only be sent for bookings made on flytap.com and its use is also only valid for bookings made on flytap.com.

This promotional code is only sent for Stopover bookings made through our website, flytap.com, and will be sent to you no later than one day after the booking has been confirmed.

Eligible routes are round trips, or just one way (outbound or inbound), with stopover in Lisbon or Porto, for medium and long-haul flights. The trip can include multiple destinations, and the Portugal Stopover can be on either leg of the journey, outbound or return, even if departing with one city as the destination and returning from a different city and to a different destination.
Portugal Stopover can be found on the homepage at flytap.com, in the main menu or below in the flight search, by clicking on the Stopover option. It is also possible to perform a flight search and, as long as the route is eligible, a banner will appear informing the client that this product is available. 
Since the Stopover comprises a period of more than 24 hours, it is not possible to check your hold baggage directly from your point of origin to your final destination (or vice versa). Therefore, passengers must collect it when they arrive in Lisbon or Porto to make their stopover, and check it in again when they continue on to the next leg of their journey. 
In the case of a stopover in Lisbon or Porto of less than 24 hours, the luggage will be transported directly from the point of origin to the final destination (or vice versa), unless requested at check-in to collect the luggage in Lisbon or Porto.
When added, standard or special extra hold baggage is applied to the entire segment selected, between the point of origin and the final destination (or vice versa). If you only wish to purchase extra hold baggage for part of this segment, please contact our Contact Center.
Yes, it is possible to have a stopover on a one way trip.
Portugal Stopover can only be used on one of the routes of the journey, either the outbound or the inbound.
You'll benefit from two destinations for the price of one. Depending on the city of your Stopover, you can also enjoy unique advantages and special prices. What's more, you'll enjoy exclusive prices when you book at the hotels mentioned and discounts with other partners.
The Time to Think option is not available for Stopover.

You can contract these offers directly with the partners using the booking method (if applicable) in the description of the respective offer.

Before Portugal Stopover, upon voluntarily adding a stopover with a duration of over 24 hours, either in Lisbon or Porto, a fee would be added to the ticket. With the Portugal Stopover this tax is no longer applied and there is no extra cost to the journey.
When simulating a trip without Stopover and another with Stopover, the flights of the two simulations are never the same. As a result, the available price classes and sub-classes may also be different, meaning that the respective prices could be different.
