Canada’s second-largest city, the second-biggest French-speaking city in the world, and, according to UNESCO, the city of design. Welcome to Montreal, one of North America’s most vibrant cities. Book your trip to Montreal and...
Dive into a city of contrasts
While its skyscrapers remind you of New York, when you walk through the historic center – Vieux-Montreál – you step back into the 18th century. Here you will find the largest concentration of museums, shops, and restaurants in the city, where you will see the city’s strong French heritage, with traces of Irish, Scottish, and English culture. Avant-garde architecture prevails in that part of the city known as the Quartier International (International Quarter), which has earned Montreal the city of design title.
Split your days between nature, sports, and festivals
The city’s links to nature are evident in its urban parks, such as the Mont Royal and the Botanic Garden – the second-largest in the world. You must also visit the Olympic Stadium and its 574-foot tower – the world’s tallest inclined tower – see the national sport by taking in an ice hockey match, or simply skate on one of the city’s many rinks. Montreal is also host to many festivals, including the International Jazz Festival – the biggest of its kind in the world – and Just for Laughs, the world’s largest comedy festival.
